Grounded In Space

CoverThis is the page for Grounded In Space, my entry in the 2009 Interactive Fiction Competition.  It placed 10th out of 24 entries, and got reviews pretty much all over the map, from strongly critical to very complimentary.  It was a true learning experience participating in the Comp as a fresh author, and I’m looking forward to entering again next year.

If you would like to find out more about the game, you can find its page at IFDB.  This page includes ratings, reviews, and links to both the game file and the walkthrough I provided for the competition.  You can also find it at the IFComp 2009 webpage, along with the detailed results for all the games.

Update –  June 1, 2010:  Grounded in Space is now playable directly in your browser, thanks to Andrew Plotkin’s online Glulx interpreter!  It’s still in beta, but GiS doesn’t use any tricks that should cause significant problems with it.  Now you too can enjoy Heinlein-homage deep space interactive fiction adventure simply by clicking a single link!
